JP 1 pcs Ultimate vs 3/4 Ultimate vs 1 pcs Paragon

Hello, got anybody has ever use JP Ultimate 1 pcs, Ultimate 3/4 and Paragon 1 piece cue?

I want to order Paragon 1 piece because I am get used to 1 piece cue before, but the Ultimate 3/4 is same delivery time with Paragon 1 piece.

1) What is the difference between 3 of them in term of feel when playing?

2) Does 1 pcs Ultimate got any different feel with 3/4 Ultimate?.

3) If I need the cue within 1 year, what to choose between 1 piece Paragon or 3/4 Ultimate? I know that 1 pcs Ultimate need to wait about 4 years.

I know it is personal choice but I just want to know from who ever use these 3 type of cue, what are they feel when using it? Any advice also will be appreciated.

Each cue is different as to their feel -and they will feel different to different people - as they are made from a natural material that is not consistent.

So the different name badges wont dictate how they feel.

The addition of a joint for the 3/4 can affect how a cue feels - compared to a 1pc.

But until you get a cue onto the table and hit some balls around you wont know how a cue will feel for you.

Id say you will be lucky to get a paragon or an 3/4 ultimate within a year

Yes it is stated within 12 month to 18 month on Parris website. But not too long compared to 1 piece Ultimate.

Yes I am really aware of that, but since I am living in Malaysia, there no way I can go to UK to tried it myself. So I think the best way is to ask anyone that tried this 3 type of cue and give their opinion.

I have played with many JP cues, including the ones you are interested in.
Some were ok, some were very nice, one or two were crap.
I have played with Malaysian and Thai cues which were superb.
The best JP cue I played with is a JP Special which I have as my UK Pool cue

No one can tell you which one you should go for, or at least which would be better for you...

The name is just a name (comeback to this later) and has no reflection on how it will feel.

The 1pc or 3/4 that is the important part as to this can (to a certain extent) change who a cue plays; often the choice of this format is your choice for travelling - small car or on the bus = 3/4; anything else 1pc

This is the danger of buying cues without trying first; even in the UK it is often not easy to go and test a cue before purchase

You got it, it is always luck when buying without testing that the cue will feel good to you
But thousands (if not millions) of people do.
I would say don't fixate on this aspect, buy what you want, and feel the excitement when it arrives
and get to the table and start enjoying your new baby

and post pictures for all to enjoy

Anybody else want to share their experience when using all of the cue I mentioned above? If just tried once of them also can share their experience here

mate seeing as you in Malaysia there are numerous cue makers who would give you a far better cue for a fraction of the price and certainly more likely to be a player within a month. The only reason I see you getting a UK cue or more specifically a John Parris is the snob value attached to it. Then again its your choice and money so good luck but was I you I would contact one the various cuemakers from Thailand and get one shipped to you from them.

Odds are strong that anything you get from Ton Praram will be better made, from better wood and and be a better player than a JP cue. Full custom will only take a few months. The only downside I can see is that the JP cue would have a higher and easier resale. I have played with loads of cues at various price points from both makers and have no affiliation with either.

Maximus make fantastic cues and are as good as John parris in terms of playability and craftsmanship
