    Hi All,

Glad to be part of this forum.

I use to own a Snooker Club in Langley BC Canada and had 2 BCE Steel block Westbury tables in the early 90s. A good friend of mine who use to frequent my club for years one day retired and gave me an older hunt o'byrne cue as a gift. Ash and ebony. I'm not sure how old it is and or its history/ background. But he did tell me it originally came from the UK in the mid 80s. I'm wondering what it might be worth? It's in mint condition. Please anyone let me know any and all feedback. Thxs R

        welcome to TSF

Hunt & O'Byrne started in 1983 and folded in 1992.
Just do a Completed Items search on Ebay and you will see some cues have gone for large sums.
If you can look at China, they go for more there as the badge is very well regarded.

Can you post some pictures of the cue Please

O'Byrne was the money man and I believe he retired to Australia (iirc) and the firm ceased trading.
Will Hunt went back on his own. Robert Osborne then joined him to help him out and then they became Hunt & Osborne for sometime before they parted ways.

                Thanks Dean.
Just learned a little more about the snooker cue family tree.

There is (was?) a firm called Hunt & O'Byrne cue firm in Shrewsbury who bought the name but has nothing to do with Will Hunt. Heard they are nice cues but probably imports from Far East

Sharkster, thxs for the kind words. I haven't played in years, no clubs or tables in my neck of the woods.... no pun intended.
I live in the South Okanagan area of BC now. 4 hours east of Vancouver BC. Would love to play again soon.

well, I see you got enough info from others.
I did contact my uncle for you. He's a collector and has 2 of them .
He said if the cue is in a good condition than between 1700 and 2.5 k.
                          That's lots of cash.
of cours , what he says is from a collectors point of view . You might get a diff price from a cue agent ? ( i do'nt know ).

post few pictuers my friend , I'm sure these guys here can give u some idea about the price !!
