I'm not. It really amazes me that a badge means more than a cue that fits, feels good in the hand and responds well. Playing well is first and foremost surely.

I'm not a badge snob and have had a cue for about 30 that don't have one on.
        Now make my own

Ferrari on uk roads when they were built for the German / European open roads.
4x4 terrain vehicles being driven by single mothers dropping off their children to school when they only live around the corner... Why? Because of the status a badge will bring.

Thankfully, this does not exist in my world.
There's nothing better than walking into a snooker hall, taking a cue off the rack and giving a bitch slap to a guy with all the gear and no idea. To watch them unscrew their JP Ulimate with that inconsolably look of "I'm really sh!t at this game..." And for them to ask me if they think their cue is unbalance!
Then I watch them outside the club getting into their 4x4s and their world is ok again...

            Harsh, but very true!

Most of us have things that we don't mind spending money on - some will buy a car that costs the same as a home, others a TV that costs the same as a car. Some of us like to by/collect cues or other things. I personally think so long as it does others no harm then it's ok. It's usually just a phase and harmless fun ;-)

Totally agree that it's all in the quality of the playing though - and if you have a cue that cost £20 and you can play well with it (as I have for 20 years), then there's nothing wrong with that at all. Equally, I've bought some nice cues of late that I also enjoy playing with, even though the feel is totally different.

I couldn't care less what badge is on my playing cue, the most important thing is how it plays
