    Ah Ninjaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa )

I'm not sure why you want to go from 8.7 to 10mm - sounds like quite a jump.....

JP will make a shaft to fit his own regal cue lol. Don't jump too many blocks aheads. Just make that phone call and decide if you are happy to proceed

When I bought the cue many years ago it was 9.5mm - over the years of sanding etc I measured wth my callipers to find its now 8.7mm which is tiny and I think this is mainly the reason I’m missing so many easy Balls lol (bad workman blaming his tools and all that)...
what a frustrating, yet addictive game this is....

I emailed Parris about getting new shaft for my old Elite cue, this was back in 2015. Here's the reply to give you an idea of his pricing.

We have two options, we can either make a new shaft or extend your cue

If we extend the cue this will increase the weight of the cue and possible
change the point of balance until we see the cue we can not tell, this will
cost approx. £148.00 plus £21.32 if you have the Sd joint in the end of
            your cue
Pluss £46-00 to re tip and ferrule. Plus return delivery. We will need the
            cue for approx. 4 weeks

A new shaft for the Elite cue will be £330.00,plus return delivery if
applicable. to make a new shaft this will take approx. 12 weeks, we will
need the butt back to re align the new shaft with the butt.

You could get other cuemakers on here to extend the cue for cheaper than what parris is asking. If anything getting a new shaft made would make the feel of the cue more different than lengthening the butt.

I would make the new shaft and put the old joint in it and send you back the old shaft off you wanted it.
That way, you know it's going to fit no problem.

Have a look on my page as I turned a broken one piece into a ¾ and had to make a new shaft.

If you're in London I'd suggest paying Robert Osborne a visit in his Tooting workshop.
I’m not an expert but there’s also ‘ADR147’ and ‘Maximus’, thoughts anyone...?

Finally, would cues such as ‘Taylor Made’ or ‘Tiger Cues’ be any good too - as lower priced alternatives?

Also might need to change how you do tips, so your not taking the ferrule down anymore

That would make the tip wider?

Reads more like 0.8mm taken off the side of the ferrule cleaning\sanding.....

A better question may be: how much would I get for it? Then with the proceeds have a trip to Doncaster, Leeds or Sheffield (or Scotland if you have a passport, lol) where they have plenty for you to try on a full size table.......

I have only been to the Leeds shop, where there is a great bloke to ask stuff and pick things up from, but others here will be able to compare the shops.

Even with a passport there's not really any "try before you buy" shops up here in Jockland. Greenbeize is best solution IMO.

Have you got a contact email or something I can get in touch wth you? I’m interested in getting a rough guesstimate price - I wonder if it’s possible to get another screw thread from John Parris so I can still keep the old shaft should it not work? That way I run no risk of damaging the original cue?

Yes I think I need a proper tip shaper/sharpener type tool, I think the years of sanding the sides down hasn’t done me many favours!

Which shop in Leeds? I’m working away in Liverpool this week, could potentially divert through Leeds on the way home on Friday to have a little look!
