has anyone tested the ambassador_cue by JOHN PARRIS ?
IIRC the Ambassador is the Classic but with 3/4 joint and butt joint added
This model has been made since the 90s. Always a "classy" look of plain butt
This model is often seen on ebay.
Until you have a cue in your hand it is an unknown quantity as to whether you will like it or not.
If you can, go to JP's shop (phone to check availability) as I am sure Ambassadors will be in the racks for you to try, as well as others in the range
Have fun, good luck, and let us know how you get on
I believe the Ambassador was modelled on the cue Parris made for Steve Davis, usually has a 9mm tip and a longer butt than the classic which makes them heavy.

No difference in butt length whatsoever, just its a 9mm tip and has sd joint by default.
To the op, don't bother calling parris cues about it until after the world championships is over, when he's at Sheffield his staff has the uncanny ability to leave the phone off the hook all day long. Tried calling 10 times today over various hours to get a quote for a friends cue and the phone is constantly engaged.

Had it confirmed the Ambassador DOES indeed have a longer butt than the Classic.
tbh nothing in there is set in stone anyway. you will find cues in there where the total splice length differs slightly on the same model. this also applies to the cues with additional splicing.
when i was in there the other day there were several champion cues where the kingwood and veneer was higher/lower on the same model.

Happened with the traditional as well, older ones have much lower veneer and face splice, new ones the veneer is only about an inch or so beneath the bottom of the ebony splices.
I think it's all approximate depending on the quality/grain of the ash. Too much wastage otherwise. An inch here or there won't make a difference to majority of customers
