  • Help me decide which cue

    Hi,
I use to play English pool before and now I'm a snooker beginner player, I want to buy a cheap cue due to my budget, and I want you to help me choose between 3 cues and any other cues suggestions will be appreciated.

My maximum budget is 30gbp, and there's no need for case now.
What about the cues I choosed?

at that price, my main concern would be finding something that has an oil finish rather than lacquered finish. perhaps message the sellers to check this.

maybe check ebay and bid on some, if you're not in a hurry, maybe pickup something

maybe something like this, looks clean enough, maybe a bit to light 15.5OZ, if not only need to ask if it's straight

or ask at your club if they can sell you a club cue, if they will find one you like and take the lacquer off

I just think that the cheaper cues don't have the right feel , almost like they are going to break when you use them for snooker .

Thank you guys for your contributions,
First I don't live in UK and we don't have here much choices, my club sell some low quality Chinese cues "BPL brand" with about 45gbp.
Also most bidding on used cues in eBay did not ship outside UK, and seems to be risky because I'm so far from there to make an easy return.
The WL sports cue in the first link looks good in the description also the third one powerglide target have good rates and comments in Amazon UK.

About the oil finish I'm not sure and I'll ask the seller for sure.

Maybe search eBay for a 2nd hand "woods" cue. They are very decent for the money.

Unfortunately with your budget you need to buy local to you, postage alone would be double that from UK

Hello guys, thank you for your replies,
I tried to find a good used cue in eBay but almost didn't ship outside UK or have expensive shipping cost.
In other side brand new cues are very expensive.
I see no choice but WL sports cue and I want to buy 2 one for me and one for a friend.

Is there any good reason why I shouldn't buy this particular cue?

If your budget only stretches this far, than no. It'll be comparable in quality to other £25 cues. Will it be a good cue? Probably not. When you factor in that ebay will take a percentage of the sale, and that the cue needs to be packaged and shipped at that price, your spending £10-15 which isn't much more expensive than a broomstick.

Another option but a little more than 30 quid.
