John Parris- Old or New

Talking from first hand experience. I tried those two dollar chinese specials and i was quiet impressed with how they play. Off cos the cue wasnt finished well but well worth two dollars

I've also had quite a few Parris cues and have played with a grand maple cue (£40) and a cheaper robin Scott 3/4. Any cue is capable of playing well regardless of the badge. The Chinese and Thai cues are generally spliced much better as they use a variety of machines to do it, they look hand spliced but they're really not.

That's not excusing the half arsed splice work on that ultimate, splices. An be misaligned from time to time, you would think that butt would have been redone to a better standard before being posted out. It looks like an apprentice was using it for practice.

They are hand spliced. The shafts are planed, however they have a grinding shaft (much like a pencil sharpener) that turns the cue round. But splicework is done by hand in all cases. They take a lot more care when they do splicework however.
