  • Holding a can or glass makes my cueing rough

I've noticed that when I'm playing pool, I start off with a nice smooth bridge hand. This means that my cueing is great and I'm potting the shots that require precision (cuts and long distance pots).

But when I hold a glass or can of coke, my hand all of a sudden becomes rough and when I bridge (drinking and bridge hand being the same), my cueing suffers and thus my shotmaking.

Does anyone here have this problem? Is my cue dirty? I'm thinking of getting some cue cleaning equipment but I need some recommendations - what is the best cleaner that I can use mid-game (something like an effective wipe)?

    Thanks

    Hi,

It does sound like your cue could be dirty, depending on what sort of cue it is you could try this as it made a great difference to my cue.

If it is just the case that you get clammy hands from your drink, perhaps hold it in the other hand (your drink i mean) or have a towel handy to wipe your hands on.

try searching for some old threads on here as well, as i'm sure it will have been covered a few times.

You could always consider putting the glass down on a table in between shots.
