  • Cue Joints??

Does anyone know where or from whom I could get the same type of cue joints that Parris cues use???

  • #2
    Try john Parris himself.

May be expensive however, price has increased a lot lately as with all materials

I have just bought a batch of new airlock joints and they were not cheap

I hope your not the only one who likes them.

I have just introduced them into my range of cues

It means I have had to increase the RRP on them by 5% but they are better than what I was using and with us been the only company using them on UK made cues it gives us our own identity

If I were you I'd stamp em with "Welshpool", a seriel number and make it 6%.
Just knowing a cue is tracable to who made it and when can only be a good thing.

the problem with most joints on cues is the noticable turning u get in a very short space of time. i have seen many problems with parris joints and the like. The best joint by far is the one Hunt and Osborne use. it is a little heavier than most (about 1oz heavier than parris) but it is by far the best.

yip, they are very thick with a heavy short thread. never had a problem with them ever.

Yes they are very good, when i had my mike wooldridge cue made a few years ago i asked him if i could have that joint instead of the airlock but he wouldnt do it, the problem with the airlock if the cue doesnt join up anymore the arrows on the cue and the butt face used to line up, now the butt is a few centimetres to the right hand side?

I would recommend sending the cue to Robert Osborne and have him replace the joint. it costs around £30-£40 and it will be lining up perfect for years to come.

Will it not detract from the value of my cue, the cue on his website is £550+ but if i put a different joint in wont this detract from the value as it isnt a 'wooly' joint?

Not that i would ever sell it but one day i may have to and people might think its fake or sumit because of the different joint?
