  • Professional Cue

    Hello All,
I'm thinking about purchasing a professional cue and have been recommended a " Peradon Pro-Cue " by the local cue contact. the cue is priced at £240(sterling) including aluminium case and mini but extension. i am interested in any feedback to a peradon cue, or the price i have been quoted. Thanks

they are not bad cues and the package price is ok - maybe a little steep. if you have tried the cue and like it its fine if you are buying sight unseen you can do better.

I agree with ADR you can do better!
I used to have a Peradon myself but I wouldn't pay that for one even with a case.
If I was going for a Peradon I'd get a Royal and a case and save yourself £100.
You could get a craftsman and a case for less than £240 too.
ADR might have something that's better value for sale as well!

Do you still have that maple Trevor White ADR I know a man who is looking to get a new cue. If so what would you be wanting for it?

I've seen the cue, but i am ordering a custom made one . I need the weight up to 21oz and the length to be 60 " otherwise i could have the standard( 18oz, 58") for £180. That's why the price is a little steep. I'm going to need a customised cue no matter where i go so the extra charge will always be there. I've used a parris cue ( Ambassador ) and found it ok. but i wouldn't be interested in forking out for one. Would ye give peradon the thumbs up?
Any other makes that you find good?

60" 21oz what the hell are you going to use that for, clubbing elephants to death????
I'm not a massive lover of Parris' not to say I would never have one but I'd want to see it before I bought it.
I had a Peradon I now have a Trevor White I think the extra money is well worth it. Especially if you’re paying £180 already! You’d have to ask him but I think it would be more like £240 with no case!
I dare say that Mike Wooldridge (assuming the poster is really he) would be a bit dearer than that.
I would think that Craftsman would knock you one up to your spec for £180 too.

Peradons are usually OK though, the thing is that they make so many there are going to be some bad ones.
I would say spend an extra few quid get a Trevor White, Mike Wooldridge, Stamford, Northwest Cue, Coutts, Robin etc etc and then keep it for ever!

Well i'll always have it for elevants if nothing else!!!! The list of cuemakers....they have websites i presume??? I was on the craftsman website. They don't have a cue customisable option there. Do they perform that for u??

Well, to get it into context, I built a 60" cue for a player who was 6' 10" and after the first two weeks of use he considered having it reduced to 59" as he found it so long. After continuing with it for another couple of weeks however he got used to it and left it as it was.

My point here is that you might well do just fine with a cue of 58.5" - 59", unless you've tried it and found them far too short.

A cue will play better as a rule being minimal rather than over long, as this allows the cue to remain stiffer on contact with the cueball (always a desireable attribute).

                    Food for thought.....

Mark Williams was winning everything in sight with a cue of barely 57", and he is 6' 3".

All is not what many may think regarding cue length.

They’ll knock you up any thing you like at Craftsman just e-mail them for a quote!
I got my mates cue from there they’re alright and great value.

Stamford cue makers, Mike Wooldridge, Robin cues and Coutts cues all have sites google them! I’m getting a case from Stamford as we speek!
Northwest cues (Kev Muncaster) doesn’t and I’ve not got an e-mail for him but I do have a phone number somewhere.
Trevor White is Trevs1 on here you could PM him.

That's very good insight.thanks! I don't find standard length cues uncomfortable to use, infact i find the weight of the cue more of a factor than length. I was just trying to account for everything.

My mate had a 60" with an 8mm tip but it keeps breaking and it's probably 59" now!
                            I'm 6' and I can play with a 57" but my cue is 58" it's personal pref I suppose.
I don't like the sound of the weight, my cue is 16 ¾ oz, which is light for most tastes I suppose. Jimmy White plays with a heavy cue I think!
I like a light cue though more touch I think.

I find it very difficult to play with a light cue. I think the heavier The cue, the easier it is to push through in a straight line. I'm inquiring about th Pro butt cue PB1, on the craftsman website. Any info on this cue??
