Pro butt PB1 is a Master cue not a Craftsman!
Master cues are alright but ADR147 said he’s seen some that have had loose splices. A few people sell them!

The Craftsman equivalent would be the 147 cue and the standard price is £110 (might be more for 60” and 21oz).

Any of the others and your paying for the splices!
Having said that I’ve got a Macasser (stripy) ebony butt and a burr splice!

Have you used a cue of the kind of weight you are asking about before???

This is 'really' heavy, far heavier than most players would find comfortable.
I'm not exactly saying that you should go against it, but, I would advise a degree of caution in getting a cue made to this weight, as it may prove difficult to reduce the weight easily if you wanted that doing.

My advice to anyone who is slightly uncertain when getting a cue made to specs would be to ensure it is somewhat adjustable by the maker, or another reliable cue specialist. Any mistakes can then be rectified, whereas getting something that can't be altered would be money wasted.

umm 60" is very long, i am not far off your height and use 58.25 just now and i have a friend at 6'9" who uses a 59" cue - craftsman would make whatever length you require just PM me. as for weight i think balance matters more but 21oz is a bit heavy.

for a cue you have not seen and tried out the price is too high, you can get one of the better makers for that money.

at the end of the day a cue is a cue and whatever you like best and works for you is the one to go, for but as a general rule of thumb with cues, you get what you pay for, and the more expensive names out there turn out a higher quality of cue.

I'd say if you can use a cue of 58", and, have been happy with that length, then 60" will feel enormous to you.

However, if you've not used a cue of 21oz before, that will feel every bit as extreme. To my mind, I think you need a bit more thinking before you make any decision.

                  wise words trevor.

imo, cues should NOT be excessively long, regardless of how tall a person may be.

there comes a point when it just isn't a cue anymore. well not one you can play decent snooker with anyway.

you've got nothing to lose trying 60" cos you can always get it cut down later.

but i would not recommend it...

The thing about a long cue is that if you are used to holding the very end of your cue, a longer cue will increase your bridging distance. This will increase your chance of missing the striking point of the cue ball.

As for cue weight, you should be controlling the shot and not the cue controlling the shot. I don;t think many top players uses a heavy cue no more besides Jimmy White.

I've had one of Trevors for about a year and it is fantastic.

I've not seen anybody with a better cue. My friends have Parris', Craftsman, Peradon, Northwest cues but none are as good as my cue. And the owners of those cues agree too! In fact a mate got a Peradon king last year and was really upset when he played with mine and it's so much better. He's talking about getting one from Trevor for his 40th now.
I'm not on comission from Trevor either!
In fact we haven't even met, just e-mailed, on here and spoke on the phone.
I believe ADR makes cues too but never seen one. I have bought tips off him though.

This looks out of place now, I was replying to the end of page 2!!!

ADR tries hard not to make cues! he starts and then never gets round to finishing them! - i can genuinely say that some of my shafts have been resting between planings for years!! in truth cue making is not profitable for somebody like me, its much easier to make a small profit on somebody elses cues a couple of times a day!

Dont buy anymore mate please. If he stops selling all them tips he may well make some more cues I fancy another but he says he's no plans to make anymore as yet.

Spose it's a good thing in a way makes mine all the rarer

edit.. Come to think of it when i bought mine Adr was selling some of his own 3/4 cues on ebay and in the add he said one of only 8 black badge cues made. As mine is a one piece I've just realised it truly is a one of a kind.
