Bottom line is, I wouldn't trust Ebay at all for buying things like cues. Most cues are on there for a reason, I'll let you work out why that is

Cues are not only subjective for the user, i.e. you really need to try it out before you buy, but also if you are a collector you really need to see the cue up close in person, and not some dodgy photos that the seller makes sure covers up any negative aspects or if its fake or not.

Sorry for those who trade on Ebay for a living but I think most people should be warned that there are a lot of con merchants on Ebay. I've heard of 100's of problems of fake goods and other problems.

ok tony says he didn't make it - nor did he put the badge on - the badge might be his though - 100% sure the cue is not authentic the way the butt tapers in at the end like a cigar is wrong it has been thicker then tapered in and a real one it would be flush. screws are not right in my opinion and the flat is also too long for a ye olde ash cue (fact).

WRT ebay, its obviously got some great deals, as well as lots of cons. finding which is which and being sure before you buy is the "dodgy" bit

a bit like wikipedia - its a great source of info, at least a good starting point, but it has a lot of inacurate info too

              horses for courses IMHO.....

Ebay is fine if you buy from respected sellers

I don't know what this "ONE REASON" is, other than people selling on ebay in order to sell to a wider market place.

With so few good cue sellers around you can't always find one close to home, so Ebay is a great place for those people.

i emailed the guy and he said hes withdraw the auction due to cancelled bids, and sick of people asking if it was a fake. but said it was an orginal, he bought it from an old gentleman who had it made for 5.00 back in 1944

well all the experts on the subject have had a look and spoken to me on the phone about it - their opinion was that it was not right! e-mail him and offer him £150-£200 - must be worth that anyway?

indeed ADR, and its not a good guide to just go on feedback, so its good to get to know some respectable sellers.....finding them is where it can be tricky
