I don't think Ali Carter 's cue is old. I looks like a new one. It has a rosewood or burr butt which is sliced into the africa ebony of tis ash cue. Possibly pariss. Am pretty sure that is is not old.

Having said that, Stu Green has said that he feels that the modern ash cues tend to get into the snooker white better if they're 18oz or more.Tear up that manure-fed astroturf!

eaoin11, thanks for your contribution. You suggest that there is a relationship between a person's natural weight and height and the selection of their cue and it's weight. Sorry to be ignornat, but who is Stu Green? Glad to here that 180z is recommended as that is what I am having made! Cheers. I am compiling a list of snooker pros and the wweights of their cues. All I need now is their weight! Call me anorak if you want!
