I think a lighter cue enables you to get better touch on cueball, correct me if i'm wrong.
Just pop in for a quick look. I think it's all in the shaft quality and proper balancing. 18oz cue can play as good as 16.5oz. But for my own cues, I prefer around 17oz. to be able to stand the long night. Just my own experience
