another first cue

Well done Qubit,
Looking good,what sort of timber did you use?it's got a nice look to it.I should play it in for a bit before you mess too much with the weight.Mine finished a little lighter than I had been used to despite adding some at the joint.That was about two months ago and I'm just about getting round to putting some more in the butt.

Thanks for the kind words cocked hat - the timber for the butt is sonokeling rosewood (will look a lot darker once finished) and the butt splice is macassar ebony i picked up from ebay. Ive played a few balls with it and its actually not bad! Will probably wait a while like you did before adding anything.
