    From the pics you've posted that would appear to me to be to most likely explanation. It looks like the original finish has been worn away there. Just apply a little linseed oil onto a piece of kitchen towel, rub it over the affected area, let it soak in and buff up afterwards. You may need to do it more than once over a period of time to get it to blend in to the right colour match, and it will protect the exposed wood.

          This is where I got the idea to dome the tip. Which has kinda knackered the shaft.

              Im selling this cue for any offers at all including the case which is in good condish but the seperators inside are kinda buggered!

                      Looks like somebody has done a Bad Job of Fitting a Tip!!

                      As you can also see alot of Scratch Marks on the Ferrule!

                            That's ok mate, no worries It was my mistake. I'm actually looking for a hand spliced 3/4 with mini but cue, budget of around £150 can you recommend any?
