How would I go about keeping the butt clean and smooth, just buff with damp then buff dry?

thats all i do wipe with a damp cloth then buff dry i never use any kind of abrasives not even wire wool as this will slowly wear down your shaft/butt and take of the finish off the cue .

You can get 1200 grade from Screwfix.com. That'll do the job IMHO.

Just spoke to Kev this morning, ordered a cue for a club mate of mine, Max 6 weeks time. Normally it takes him 4 weeks, but he is quite busy at the moment.
Top bloke who makes great cues.

Out of interest what are Kev's cue prices like for a typical 1 piece no frills plain ash with ebony butt?
