First Snooker Cue ?

Hi .. my name is marco and iam from germany .. i started playing snooker some months ago .. now i want to buy me my first cue .. could you please tell how what i should looking for ? which brand ? how much should i spend ?
and i have another question:
what does handspliced oder simulated handspliced mean ?

genuine hand spliced means the butt wood has been added to the shaft wood in the tratitional manner.

simulated hand spliced = painted butt. to make it look like it has been hand spliced.

steer well clear of simulated cos the cue quality is generally awful.

i'll let others advise you on what cue to buy cos there are many different opinions.
