Just to chuck my 2p in, I'd think that spending a little cash on a couple of hours with a good local coach or far less on a good coaching manual might be money better spent. In my opinion there isn't a cue out there that should make any drastic improvemts to your game unless it's a mental thing or the cue you were playing with before was unsuitable or had a bad tip.

From following this forum, it seems the general opinion is that the best cues are made by Mike or Trevor, based on what I've read. Considering I've not played with either I'm not one to judge. What I meant is a good player can play a great game with a BCE cue, and a bad player can play a bad game with a Wooldridge cue.

You shouldn't get a new cue to sort out your technique in my humble opinion.

I'm buying a Craftsman cue in the near future for a few reasons. People in the know seem to say that they make good cues that are well worth the money. I doubt very much that a cue for £600 would make me play better. Although in saying that I'd love to buy a Wooldridge or T. White cue but that's mainly because I appreciate the brilliant craftsmanship that obviously goes in to building them, not because I think they will suddenly make me play better.

I am considering buying an Acuerate cue, can someone just say "YES" this cue really has an effect of minimising unintentional spin, or "NO", it doesn't.

              Thank you very much.
              Hi,

My friend has just got one few days ago. It is a 3/4 jointed ash cue. The shaft curved to one side, and the butt curved to another! When the two pieces put together, the cue tip is jumping up and down when it is rolled on the snoker table. He can never produce a clean plain shot with it!

It could be the taper or the cheap chinese ash.

A fool and his money hey Mike..

Nah Aconmate cues are made in West Brom in the back of Charlie Chinks take away from laminated used chopsticks stained with cold curry sauce. They cant say they come from China as it'd be illegal so they just spread the rumor round they come from China to add value.
