see, thats where i think this would be ideal for you

    youve got a great reputation.

youve got loads of contacts in the trade

setting up a website to trade cues, collectors or otherwise. it doesnt have to be a bidding site.

other traders can sell on your site, for a % fee. not too much mind. you would also get first choice at such cues being the owner.

they would entrust you with a minimum offer, but also a wished for offer. if the offer wished for isnt met, then sell to the minimum offer. may need working on that.

a contact email and a note on the main page that you can probably supply snooker accesories new at cheaper than most on the web would see you getting other snooker related sales, where you would make more profit id assume through amount of sales.

i reckon its workable, and not for a great time or cost outlay, and it centres on your passion.

not my bag though, but i thought it worth a mention.

I dont think it would be worth the effort.
Out of 1100 cues listed on ebay only 30-40 are of any quality from a playing perspective or for collecting. I know Gordon Radfords Cue Collector site has a for sale section which isnt attracting alot of entries.
I sell a fair few antique cues and would always list on ebay as no one will ever be able to offer the market that they can.

thats a fair point, though the initial set up wouldnt take too long and not cost much. double it with existing sales on ebay, and when sending items sold on ebay, make sure a flier is added with the address of your own site, gaining traffic from folk who are likely to return at some point.

You have to be quick if your going to buy a domain name or you will miss out , when I set up Green Baize as a company I looked straight away at buying Greenbaize.com & Greenbaize.co.uk lucky for me they were available , I found out a matter of months later by pure coincidence that a friend of mine was looking to set up a forum website , and had tried to buy the Greenbaize domain name , I think you can guess what that fourm based website ended up !! Yes Thegreenbaize.com !! unfortunately Franny didn't keep the site going , but lucky for you guys this one is
The last domain name I was going to buy for a new venture was cues4u , guess what ........... It was available, but through my own slow action when I finally decided to go for it had been taken .
                          I bought Cuespecialist.com instead
