  • Is this a geniune John Parris Ultimate

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/John-Parris-UL...QQcmdZViewItem

I checked every pic of the item the seller uploaded, and found the pic of the case was just copied from the other seller, and the badge of the Ultimate cue is different from mine which is ordered directly from John Parris, especially the font of this 2 word "ultimate cue", anyone can tell me is it a real one or not?

The only thing which I wonder about ist the ultimate number (786).
He says it took 9 months to make which is fair enough but he also said it was only 6 months
      old.

My JP Ultimate number is 959, I bought it new direct from JP and have had it since the end of 2006.

I agree about the dodgy-looking font on the badge. All the genuine Parris badges I've seen show the model name in upper case, and the Ultimate is no exception. The wording on this one is in mixed case, and the sequence number does appear to be inconsistent with its alleged age, as the previous poster has pointed out. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but I have never seen a Parris cue-badge fitted to the mini-butt as well.

its defo a fake i own or did own until a few weeks ago number 925 which i ordered direct from parris cues the badge is totaly different i got my cue in september 2006 so the numbers just dont add up 925 2 years ago so number 786 should at least be 3 years old i have lots of friends that have parris cues i own 3 myself and all the font on the badges is the same as for the badge fitted to the mini butt i have a friend that owns number 4 hundred and somthing owned from new and he has a badge fitted to his mini butt john parris will do this if asked.

Or check with John Parris himself as its an Ultimate & numbered he would be able to tell if its one of his & easily confirm dates, style etc and who it was sold to, he doesn't usually mind checking as he doesn't like fakes being sold..i wouldn't mind betting he's seen it already...

Might help too, Ultimate No 1050 was sent out May/June 2007, fonts were upper case. Just the same style of badge as ADR147's photo

mine too (upper case fonts), mini butt no badge

and why would it need to be refinished after just 6 months?...

I would have a good bet that the cue is a genuine Parris cue.

I am bewildered at the amount of rumour and suggestion at the volume of 'apparent' fake Parris cues.

I think in all the time I've dealt with cues, I've seen maybe a handful at most, and that includes the same one or two usual suspects that pop up every so often on Ebay.

I would like to get peoples opinions of this Parris I bought sometime ago the guy said he had it specially made but I have often wondered. The design is not the same as a normal exclusive. I didnt pay a fortune for it but would be interested in peoples thoughts. The Master cue and Trevor White I know are original.
