I still don't own a cue, but thinking of buying one. I'm still a rookie. So, can anyone give an advice of what kind and what brand of cue I should buy..?

            1. 2 piece ash cue from Enbild (lasted a couple of years...only weekendplayer back then)

            2. 3/4 ash cue from Æon. (Very light. Like 15oz. That one went through my 'can't get better lets blame the cue and bang it up good period'. I still keep it around to remind me of my ..eh ...angrier days)

            3. 1pc Dufferin maple cue (A housecue I played with for 3-5 years)

            4. 3/4 ash cue from John Parris. (Very good cue. Bought it cheap from a friend after he prematurely retired. He is back now and I have sold it back to him after using it for 6 years or so.)

            5. 3/4 ash cue from Acuerate (Don't know if this should count really. Used it for about 6 months but knew very early it wasn't a keeper.)

            6. 3/4 ash cue from Trevor White (3 months and counting. A very good cue.)

Whats the difference between 3/4 and 2 piece cue?

A 3/4 cue has a joint 3/4 of the way down the cue whereas a 2 piece is jointed in the middle.

I have two cues, one which I got signed by Stephen Hendry quite a few years ago when I was eight and was really getting into snooker (is getting snooker players to sign cues the new big thing?!) and then felt like I should keep the cue safe. It was alright then, because I hadn't found my cue action or playing style and I was happy to change cues every time I played. Now i've got a new one which i've been using for three years and i'm comfortable with it.

My first cue got broken, the second one stolen from the snooker club, the third i sold to a mate as i was moving on and not going to be playing for a while (new town, no snooker tables nearby!). I just sold my fourth and i'm now on my fifth.

I've changed three time so far.
I started with a very basic cue, then I bought a Peradon Regency and now, I'm using a Craftsman Panther, custom made.

Ive changed cues a few times,

I got my first cue when i was 10, then i got another when i was 12, both were ok but didnt really fit me that well. Then i got a Stephen Hendry replica cue from Rileys, no good at all. To light, couldnt get the spin i could do with other cues.

Then I got my 4th cue, a one piece - screw on tip - (I know, it sounds bad) but this is the cue for me, Its perfect, it fits me really well and now im fully used to it I will Never change. It would ruin my game if i did. Its quite alot heavier than some other cues, but the general "feel" of it is lovely and I will stick with it forever

You may order a cue from KM-pool and snooker club in Skopje. But my suggestion is not to buy some expensive cue because the only snooker table in Skopje is in a very bad condition. The cloth had never been changed and it seems like you play on a wool carpet. You may never play the kind of shots you see on the TV, so it doesn't mind if you play with a cheap or expensive cue. Personally, I bought a Wiking snooker cue from that club for 60 euros.
But, my suggestion is if you want to play some cue sport in Skopje, than it's better for you to switch to pool. I did that and I'm quite pleased I must say.
