      • Hello everyone
        Here some pictures of my home made snooker cue.
        The splice is made of snake wood and purple heart with intermediate layer of yellow red and orange veneer.
        The silver dolphins were also worked into the wood.
        name in gold leaf, is that of my daughter, she helped with the design
        If there is little space around the table, then I use the second bud
        Cue Length Bud 1 = 157,5 cm
        Bud 2 = 145,5 cm

        Balance point = 47,5 cm
        Weight =575 gr
        Tip diameter =9,25 mm
        Bud diameter = 29,4 mm

        I have made more cues that can be seen on my facebook account

        • There are splices under the dark / black coloured lacquer, but from the many I've seen and stripped back, they are often very very badly done, with horrific gluelines also. The lacquer coating makes them appear far more even than they really are.

          The timber in the lower splices of these is not cocobolo either, although some look similar to it. Santos rosewood looks a closer bet.

                              this is my first custom made cue, i used to play with mass produced cues, which are usually 57" long, 17ish oz, 9.5mm tip. i just go with my instinct, what specifications i would to have. i may later discover the suitable specs for myself

                              • My most recent custom cue made for a member. Finished in 1pc, then cut and made into 3/4pc. Selected Competition Quality Ash shaft in 7 arrows and blank belly. Ebony and Red Curly Maple, with my 'C' brand badge. We like this one a lot
