In all probability true, although by only offering to make a hole for the badge and pointedly ignoring the request that they fit it themselves, Dunn's for their part seem to be at pains to absolve themselves from any complicity in the deed.

Nor will it be the last. I've lost count of the number of times this old hardy perennial, no 786, keeps cropping up - #230237540026

with todays computer engraving machines it's easy to copy anyones cue that has a plastic or acrylic disc inset - as I've just explained to a customer in Australia that was why I moved away from acrylic discs in cues and had one die cast. Anyone wanting to copy my cues now will have to fork out for an origination charge, artwork charge, die charge and then have to take at least 100 discs - so they've got to be pretty determined to copy mine again

It would probably take me a life time to make a cue, sadly I'm not very handy that way, I'm more of a computer guy . I'll leave it to the experts lol. But in all seriousness the people making and or selling fakes should be punished for it!

unfotunately there are a lot of unscrupulous people out there and ebay is a great way for these people to make a quick buck - what could be easier - buy a cheap cue from Thailand or China - drill out the disc and replace it with one that says John Parris, Hunt & O'Byrne, Trevor White, Robert Osborne, Mike Wooldridge etc. - all use similar discs - that can be copied in the same typeface from a computer engraving machine. I used to have one of these machines and made all my own discs and plates and the machine used to reverse engrave them onto a special coloured acrylic that I'd then spray over the engraved lettering with a different coloured paint. It's just too easy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What made the seller think it was a good idea to post the question and answer in the listing? Are they touting for more of these jobs?
