Though i am not a cue maker but i have an idea, can someone host a webpage, where each manufacturer displays the joints and badge of their cues?
I thought each cue maker has a different joint, is it right? This way consumer can tell from the joint whether the cue really is from whatever manufacturer?

Anyway. On the subject of inappropriate eBay listings, check out this one:

There're a lot more from the same seller. Thankfully this one isn't modelled: 380016880831
Don't even ask how I know.

People who buy these cues at £100 plus must have a fair idea of how to play the game and therefore must question the price. I think any cue maker would be more than happy to take a look at one of there cues on ebay if asked by the buyer. I know John Parris will oblige if asked as he hate fakers.

with regard to the webpage showing each makers joint as a form indentifying genuine from fake - I had a conversation just recently with Mike Wooldridge who was saying that these places in the far east have buckets full of every different joint around so copying in that regard has already been taken to a fine art. I've struggled with this problem for more years than I can think of, and the only way (as I said in an earlier thread) that I seem to have got around the problem is by having my cue disc die cast - the problem (as explained earlier) for the forgers is that due to origination, artwork and die costs added to the fact that you have to take a minimum of 100 discs this makes it more of a commitment into long term individual forgery than merely getting a disc engraved for a couple of quid; obviously it's not full proof, but it's the best I could come up with and seems to be working so far, particularly as most of my cues go abroad and have done for many years, so the last thing either myself or my customers want is a devaluation in the price or quality of cues bearing my namewww.cuemaker.co.uk
