  • Tip help

Hey everyone, I need a new tip, my old one is getting quite small and if I keep it up for too long, I will probably damage the ferrule.

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this, as I'm not too sure what I should be doing about it all. I need to know what tips to buy. Currently using Blue Diamond, which was on my cue to start. I guess I can ask my friend to order me some off the net, if I know which ones I should be buying.

And my second, much bigger problem. I need someone to put it on. My friend did his, but he has really nasty tips and he didn't put them on very well, meaning they were always falling off and sticking out at weird angles. There is a Rileys club near me, but they know almost nothing about snooker, not sure I'd trust them to put one on, plus the fact I hate speaking to people too much.

Any advice for me on what to do about this?

Seriously, if you cant glue a tip straight on thats less than 12" from your eyes you shouldn't be on the big boys tables, take up pool with all the other Mr Mgoos.

            Hi Wity,

In UK, I think I will use Blue Diamond, a medium hardness tip. In dryer and colder places, I would change to an Elk Master, a soft tip. From my experience, medium to hard tips won't perform well in dry and cold places, even though you play indoor.

To change tip by yourself is not a big deal. Just get the instructions and practice it a few times. John Parris's instructions to change tip is the simpliest you can get.

My tip always performs well no matter what the temperatute is, but with you lovely babe between the sheets it'd perform exceptionally.

                Hi Wity,

You do not belong to my class! I think your mind and hands are too dull to feel anything. In particular, I don't think you will have the sentivity to screw well!

johns are not clear for an amateur, they don't tell you how to do it properly - my own tip guide or mikes are far far better.

Thanks a lot Mike, when I order the tips, I will look at your guide and try my best to put it on myself. I guess I should have seen this before, but what can I say, I'm a strange guy.

Wity - I'd rather keep up the snooker thanks, not pool, so looks like I must learn this quickly.

I go away for a few days and this topic gets full of innuendo.... *Shakes head*
Very clever innuendo though, you two should write for the new Bond movie.

ADR - you have a guide too? I am thinking of going Blue diamond, and I generally play in conditions of a moderate temperature. I really need my stuff soon, as I plan to play a LOT more soon, and hopefully break 50, with more practice. My current tip won't last too long in the planned new practice time.
