Mark did get in touch with me some time back and I was supposed to get back to him but forgot to do so.
He uses a Parris cue now, and yeh, it is a thick monster cue, which is very different to what he used before. As to the point of why he didn't get it altered, or adjusted, well, Mark isn't really the type of guy to get too into this or that with cues.
So, my guess would be that he got the new cue and used it, struggled at first, but persevered and eventually got more into it. From what I am reliably told, he's playing VERY well, but in a match situation, and, against arguably the greatest natural talent the game of snooker has ever witnessed, it doesn't come so easy.
Still, it is good to see Mark where he probably belongs.....in at the business end of major tournaments, competing against the best.
Thanks for the information Trevor, very interesting. I don't like thick cues either, it's like trying to do surgery with a machete! lol. Williams to me seems like the most down to earth player out there, I doubt there's anyone that doesn't wish him good luck, hopefully he'll be back up there in the top few players in the world again soon.
