please could somone tell me where i could have a new butt made in the west midlands? I have a 3/4 cue with a plain ebony butt, unfortunately the cue had a accident and 2 inch"s was lost off the top, the original length was 59 inch"s, so i would like a new butt made to make it back to this length, i like the grain and would like to keep the shaft as the cue was a present. the cue was a peradon-pro. would a ebony butt having to be made that long be extremley heavy as the cue is 17.5 ounces. any help would be appreciated.

www.bandwbilliards.com (Cradley Heath)
Favoured a fair bit round here especially by pool players.
www.thesnookershop.co.uk (Brum)
No idea who these guys are.
www.mastercraft-cues.co.uk (15mins From Telford)
Good cues well made and not too expensive.
http://www.burroughesandwatts.com (Sutton Coldfield)
Avoid like the plague, famous name now run by cowboys apparently.
Theres 4 but take you pick fom the whole market place really posting you shaft to a builder and emailing photos and details is as cheap as going to a local company on the bus.
Could ask Bitter (www.welshpooltrading.com) by PM here on the board too he'll sort you out whatever your budget I expect.
As to the weight your best discussing it with one of them. Cue butts can /are often drilled out to lighten or to add weight but there's a limit as to how far they can go. Plus you existing butt can be built on though the join would be visible I imagine unless done by a top bloke.Last edited by Wity; 29 April 2008, 09:58 PM.

it"s not your fault witty, you are only trying to help mate, keep well away from them and B&W the man who owns it now should be on watchdog or maybe crimewatch, what a rip off merchant, charged me £300, 2 years ago for a cue that i found out was only worth about £40!

A&D aren't that bad, I'm really surprised they charged you that much. My mate has had all sorts of repairs done on his cue from the guy in there but then again he is a good friend of his.
As for who I'd recommend, Mastercraft. They have just done a similar job on my mates cue who also had a long cue at 60" but it was a 1 piece. They took off the end where there was a crack just below the ferrule, about 3 inches down the shaft and added the length to the butt end.
They just added the length at the end of the butt. Its not too difficult, even with a jointed cue. They charged him £60, I don't know how much a new butt section would be but I'd imagine around the same price.

Yeah you not alone their mate. Adr147 a member here and a cue maker/dealer did some repair on a womans cue a while back that was worth much the same and she'd paid through the nose for it too.
Don't think of them as B and W billiards of Cradley Heath They I believe are ex employees of the original B+W and Graham Miles was associated with them when I last looked at their site something about a free lesson to new customers or something.

yeah a lesson on how far to bend over and see how far he can shaft you, the premises have moved to the back of the man who owns it house in sutton coldfield. behind electric gates so once your in unless you buy a cue theres no way out, tell somebody where your going just in case you dont come back,
