I've recently taken up snooker again, and have approx £100-£130 to spend on a new cue. Any advice from you guys?

I'm not the expert here, but as far as I know for that money your best bet is http://www.craftsmancues.com/acatalo...ard_range.html.
I've hopefully had my craftsman delivered today, so I'm even more keen to finish work than usual!Alex Higgins "If I knew you were comin I'd have baked a cake, baked a cake, baked a cake"

Can't argue, with craftsman.
I think user "Wity" has a brand new craftsman cue and case for sale within your budget.
Also keep an eye out on ebay for o'min cues, some go for a steal.
I think user "BITTER" on here is the one to speak to about them.
You can sometimes get a good deal on handspliced cue craft cues on the bay as well.

haha you did Andrew but it looks fine, my fault for giving different specs over a few seperate emails! The badge looks better in the flesh though, not sure what it is about the images on the site that makes it look cheap. Maybe I'll get one of yours on it instead some time .
The ebony above the tulip wood is very light, infact it seems to have a grain to it! It looks very good but I've never seen ebony that wasn't just black???Alex Higgins "If I knew you were comin I'd have baked a cake, baked a cake, baked a cake"

Finding absolutely black ebony through and through is becoming increasingly hard for importers and of course rarity comes at a premium.
The cue I bought off ADR last year which he made had a very small piece of sapwood no longer than your fingernail and about a third as wide in one splice of an otherwise all jet black cue. I asked him why he did not stain that little bit and I may as well asked him to support England against Scotland, STAIN EBONY ! THAT'S SACRILIGE he cried
Cost me £3 or so for a bottle of ebony stain to which I used no more than a spitful.
On the other hand Trevor made me a mini butt for the cue of his I bought and that's got about 30% or so "whiteness" in it and it looks awesome all swirly like oil on water. Both are gaboon ebony.Last edited by Wity; 3 May 2008, 12:16 AM.
