  • Bent Cue

When i hav re-tipped my cue i have put the clamp on and afterwards went i went to play snooker few days later i lay my cue down and rolled it towards me on the table and about the first 8 ince's of my cue seemed to wabble has anyone got any ideas as wat i could do to straighten it or just recommend buying a new cue. thanks

rolling a cue on the table will not tell you if its straight or bent the taiper of the cue may make it wobble or the weight in the butt if there is 1 may do the same .plus a slight bend in a cue doesnt make it a bad cue if its a good cue i would just forget about it and carry on playing with it .

Hendry played with a slightly bent cue for years. It didn't seem to do him much harm. There are experts who could look at the cue and maybe do something with it, but it would probably be a lot cheaper to just get a new cue altogether, unless you are really used to the cue you have now.

A bent cue is no problem Hendry won 7 titles with his. Who knows you may become a 16 times world champion.

I had a bent cue once, but after a few days it went in the fireplace. Couldn't play a straight pot with it. A friend of mine has had a bent cue for years.

It's down to personal preference really.

put it under your strong eye and rotate it, any bends or kinks will be easy to spot - never roll a cue on the table they are not perfect cones

I play UK 8 ball with a Geordie "Elegance" pool cue with a 8.5mm tip. There is a bend about 7 inches from the tip that i would class it a severe. Most people who have seen it have laughed at it. It bends perfectly downwards if you hold the badge to the ceiling. But for some unknown reason i play so well with it. I brought it on ebay for £6 and i have 2 other really really nice cues. One my dad made me 15 years ago for pool and another which i have shown on here before for snooker...and for some reason (whether its my cueing action?? probaly) i love using it. Just one of those things

Hence now in the pool team i have the nickname "Bananaman".

, this little £6 cue off ebay has the most "personality" that i have ever used.....i always have a smile on my face when playing and even more so when i beat someone with a top notch straight cue.

But the cue my Dad made me still has more value to me than any other cue. I know there is no other like it, and there never will be

                      A cue has bent

One of my rack cues has developed a pronounced bend about 8" from the tip. I just wondered how or why this should have heppened. The cues are stored vertical on a rack on the wall. They come down only to be used. The room is neither hot nor cold. So why suddenly does a cue start to bend?
