Don't know. Just checked the invoice that i got 6 odd years ago and it says 'Hand spliced Ebony. What the hell is ebonized? lol

Peradon cues are mostly ebony butts they do make rosewood too.
They have recently started making "Ebonex" butts on the Lazer cue that's it.

And don't start tying to tell me Snookaman that I don't really know what goes on at Peradon. I know someone who was a table fitter for Thurstons (the parent company) until recently.
I've had a Peradon in the past myself (not a great cue: lacquer on the butt, machine spliced) a few of my friends have Peradons. One lad has a lovely custom made Peradon, no lacquer, oil finish, single snakewood splice, great balance. On the other one mate got a King a year ago: back heavy and now warped!
Peradon make a lot of cues that means some will be good, some will be bad!

What the hell is ebonized?

Merely a term used to describe wood that has been stained dyed or whatever to look like ebony.

Done well it's extremely difficult to tell, even priceless works like grand pianos and the like ebonised donkeys years ago were thought to be genuine by many an expert and when destroyed in a fire or whatever it's only then the truth has been discovered.

anyway mine is a handspliced ebony etc etc. tis a lovely cue and wouldn't change it. actually i've been looking at the Trevo White cues in that thread and one of them may tempt me, but i do love my peradon :snooker:
