I think since Trevor has offered to show you the best way to do it this is a bit of a non issue now anyway, pluse ADR's tip guide is still floating about.Alex Higgins "If I knew you were comin I'd have baked a cake, baked a cake, baked a cake"

don't laugh at the pencil sharpener - if you have a new one like in the photo it works very well.

You want to buy a lathe just to shape your tip?
I'm guessing you have more money than sense? you could do a perfect job with your hands and a 20p bit of fine sandpaper!
But each to their own i suppose.
I'm sure theres some sort of ancient saying about using a "something big" to break a "something small" but i can't recall it exactly at the moment.

Well put it this way - If 6 of my mates are going in with this and the lathe costs £150 then we have only spend £25 each - Hardly breaks the bank. And of course theres always second hand! If spending cash on a tool that is overkill for the job is your logic then why are some of us spending £300 on cues when Stephen Hendry won 7 world titles with a £40 cue!? Not that there’s anything wrong with that but the same logic applies here. I suppose you would have to agree that some people (including my girlfriend) think that £300 for a cue is ridiculous. Anyhooo – I’m sure Trevor’s method of re-tipping is second to none so can’t wait to see how he does it. Thanks for the cynical comments, keep them coming…
