Does anyone have any experience with snooker cues that, for want of a better description, look like pool cues? Meaning with a linnen wrap. I am looking at getting one, but I need to know a good brand to choose in this particular field. Any help would be appreciated.

A cue is a cue mate what name you put before the word cue is up to you. Call it whatever you like and have whatever spec you want all I'm saying is a cue with a linen wrap is known as a pool cue. No doubt some Wally somewhere has a linen wrap on a cue with a spec suited for snooker but 99.9999% of people would call it a pool cue thats been modified.

as far as i am aware nobody makes a snooker cue with a linen wrap - if you wanted one the way to do it would be to buy the cue and wrap it in irish linen yourself.

Why does there seem to be wall the size of Hadrian's between pool and snooker eqiupment? Said tongue-in-cheek, I think it's the in infamous UK 'island mentality' that shines through in this department as well?
I think Wity's comment about "they remain the domain of some US pool players with sweaty dirty palms who dont know how to clean themselves or their cue" is wrong.
I'd estimate that more than 95% of all pool cues around the world that are not from the rack have irish linen wrap. I have very dry hands, and I still prefer to play with a linen wrap around my cue. Also, I pride myself on taking regular showers!
