As I said in my earlier post my harveson was identical but had a plaque rather than a disc I would have no reason to believe that this is not a Cecil Harveson and you will get a a tidy profit if you can replace the badge.

If you send some pictures to dave smith through his cues and views web site he will give you his opinion and believe me he is rarely wrong. He has one of the best antique collections I have seen and a wealth of experience.

Andy Hunter is another guy you could try and get in touch with about it, I am sure ADR would know how to contact him.

I sold my collection about 2 years ago just before my son was born.

At last count I had 127 cues with not too many duplicates, I had every rare cue you can imagine the only ones I never managed to find were the pre 100 break Joe Davies cues.

In fact the guy who bought my Harveson also took 2 extemely rare cues at the same time one was a secret jointed Mannock the other was a Madame Strebor cue.

I've only ever seen one other Madame Strebor cue and that is owned by Ken Walton in Bradford.

He told me the story of how he thinks Madame Strebor was John Roberts wife. Strebor being Roberts spelled backwards.

              Is that true?

                  Hi,

I think our paths have crossed at one time although I really cant remember where.

I had quite a lot of dealings with Dave Smith and Dominic Dale as well as a guy from Peterborough named Graham who collects Rileys. Most of the time we met at Dave Browns or the crucible to sort things out so im thinking it may be from there?????

I also believe I purchased a Claude Faulkiner facsimile off you at 1 time.

My name is Tony by the way.

I am under the impression that this story is correct.

Tony Ions has one as well although his copies are that good its hard even experienced collectors to spot if its genuine.

I believe s collector from Bolton has one also although I wont name him as he doesnt like people to know what he has.

Out of interest ADR what would you value a Strebor at?

Mine was in good condition but not mint butthe badge was great and I took £750 for it. I have often wondered if that was a fair price.
