  • A question of cue

I noticed that 1 piece cue got a longer shaft and shorter butt while a 3/4 cue got a shorter shaft and longer butt. How does this difference have on the playability and the feel of a cue?

i own both and if there are well made there is no difference. exept for the weight i belive you can make a 3/4 cue alot heavier than a 1 piece with out losing the right balance.as for play in my opinion there is little difference.

Given that both shafts are cut from the same wood block, does the shorter shaft get stiffer than the longer one?

It depends on a number of other factors.....

For example, the taper, weight and overall length of the two cues could create considerable differences in them both.
