For sure I will continue to buy cues in the future...

It is absolutely right that the tip makes a bit difference in the playablility of a cue.
But for me it is quite difficult to find the right tip and to have a stable result in retipping with a good result in terms of playing. But I am working on finfing my favourite tip and shape.
I am confused... Oh wait... Maybe I'm not...

Knowing how to put on your own tip would help I guess?

Oh, yes. I do, of course...
Andrew sent me a bunch of different tips and I could spend days retipping until I have them all tested,

Does anyone know anymore about AE Ions cues - are they a well known make and are they expensive? Reason I ask is that I used to have one myself, I lent it to someone and never seen that someone again or my lovely cue

            Ouch, that is awful!

I have two Ions cues and both are very elegant cues. As far as I know Tony Ions has retired and makes only now and then a new cue.
If you ask Andrew aka ADR147 on this forum he has the contact details.
They are well known and good cues. Expensive is a very relative word.

What specs are you looking for? Maybe I am willing to let one of them go...

That's good of you to offer one up for sale, i dont play anymore at the mo but you never know.

I picked mine up in Whitley Bay, which is near Newcastle, the guy I bought it off told me about Tony Ions at the time - i thought it was purely a regional thing obviously not if they've made it to Stuttgart!

                Thanks for the offer though

For sure it would not have come to Stuttgart without this forum and Andrew.
But I like the Ions cue a lot.

Tony Ions has been making cues for over 30 years for customers all over the world. His replica cues are his speciality. His cues are still very expensive. As far as I know he has not retired, but his output has seriously dried up recently. I know this as I ordered 2 cues from him 2 years ago, and I still haven't received them. When I phone him, which happens about once a month, he has very inventive excuses, but has never evoked retirement, which is a shame as it could give him more time to invent excuses.

                      2 years?????
Do you have already paid the cues?

I will never ever complain about Trevor. Compared to that he is fast as lightning.

Cues were paid 2 years ago.

                        Trevor is an honest man!

                        That's all I'm saying.

I wouldn't have gone as far as handsome, I've never seen him!

Ok, teacher, I used the wrong word. Just realized after pushing the "submit" button...

The best cue I have played with is my Parris Ultimate made in 2000. With a smooth stroke it produces very little squirt on the cue ball. I will be starting soon to do some experimenting and hopefully it will not take too long. I am curious, how many people after experimenting ended up returning to their original cue?

Keith, hopefully you have receipts from Ions and good luck with it’s delivery. Unfortunately this should be a heads up to others.
