    I didn't think it was a mistake, I thought you'd met/seen him!

That's why there's an edit button. I use it all the time!

Thanks Mike. We'll see what happens, but I've given up holding my breath. Hopefully others will take heed of the heads-up. That's why I posted it.

Keith, In some groups that kind of transaction or lack of, is the start of a thread and not a very pleasant one at that. Hopefully someone on here who knows Ions will let him know how polite you were about his business practices.

I'll take whatever help I can, to be honest, Mike. Although it would make me feel better to vent some spleen by being less polite, I don't want to go down that route. I know that it always comes back at you, just when you don't expect it to. Tony knows what he has to do to remedy the situation, anything else from me is just self-indulgent.

I know and agree with you 100%. Treating people with sugar has much better results. If you start badmouthing him, you can certainly kiss your money goodbye. I know some hockey players on your side of the pond. I can always send them over on a courtesy visit. (For any doubters, obviously said in complete jest)

The best cues I have ever played with are either a old Will Hunt Black label or a long spliced Stamford cue. None belonged to me.

The best playing cues I have ever owned are a John Parris Ulitmate, a John Parris Exclusive, a Trevor White and a Northwest cue.

I feel very disappointed for you Keith. I've been let down too (tho not by Ions in my case) but at least the cue arrived!

Thanks for that, eaoin11, it's nice of you to say so.

It's always a bad moment when you've been let down, whether you get the goods or not.

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the thought!! I have to admit that if my leg was up to it, I'd just get in the car, take a ferry and drive up there to pay Mr. Ions a personal visit.

Just to see him in person and get either the cues made for me or another cue(s) as compensation. Newcastle isn't that far away, it's only a 9 or 10 hour drive. However, I can't drive for more than 30 mins now without having to stop so it's out of the question. So, I have to 'phone him and remind him I'm still waiting on my cues, again! I think he thinks I'm going to give up and go away ... he's wrong!

In Canada there are government authorities you could notify about this kind of practice. They then would pay a visit to the culprit. As an owner of a business the last thing I want is the government knocking at your door. Your company would be red flagged and next thing you know other government agencies would come a knocking. If there are agencies like that on your side of the pond, perhaps threatening to call them would be enough for him to finish your cue or at least refund your money. At this point I think I would take the money, due to being leery of the workmanship you might receive. It is too bad a visit is out of the question. That way you could at least have a choice of cues.

                      Definitely be persistant.
