This guy has some interesting cues on sale at eBay Australia, anyone seen/bought/used one? What do you think? Tempted to get one since it's not too pricey.

I have bought 4 or 5 of these cues. The ones that have "black" ebony butts are painted but the wood underneath (whether ebony or not) is quite nice. The shafts are straight, the splices adequate (points due not line up), the weight is a bit on the heavy side (19-20), they have awful tips, very very hard, the extensions work well, the cases are not very well made but quite adequate (not lockable), the finish is not very good but a little work will get them quite acceptable, and the size of the ferrule will vary a mm or so. But for $100.00 Canadian including shipping the price is unbeatable. I bought a couple originally to check them out and maybe alter for use as a 9-ball cue but ended up selling them to friends who had me order a couple more for them. I found that the weight and balance didn't suit me and my O'min and Unique feel much better as snooker cues.
BTW no matter where the seller is located the cues ship from Hong Kong.

Yea, i was planning to get one if the auction ends up being less than $100, not too bad for the price seeing as you get a whole package with shipping, plus there's re-sell value to snooker newbies too.
I was sort of waiting for a thread like this to pop up.
I was in the same boat a couple of months ago when i saw them on ebay and wondered what they'd be like.
First off, I ordered a couple of these, so if one was good i'd keep it and sell the other. (arrived within 5 days of payment...fast) They both ended up being teriffic cues and accessories. The butt wood is stained, but when you're buying a cue this cheap you're not expecting the darkest ebony on the planet. The cases are not worth a cracker, so just put cue in my existing one. The cues are straight, stiff shaft, nice chevrons up the shaft, good weight (the one I kept was 19.4oz) and a nice butt design. I sold the other one in no time! Oh, I did have to remove the varnish from the cue and it drank so much oil it amazed me.
I have been using this particular cue for a few months now and I have put my Parris Traditional on the shelf...and its a good Parris. lol
I've knocked in some pretty sizeable breaks with it and to be honest, regardless of what cue i compared its playability against, the cheap China one would get the nod.
I am still saving for a Wooldridge or White though. lol.
the one I kept is called Zenith, it's all black butt with couple of white veneers.
The other one i bought and sold was Nobility?? (who comes up with these names?) and it has tulip wood splicing. in the flesh its a really nice cue, but that one was too heavy for me...21oz.
You sort of get lucky or unlucky, lol, in the weight of em I think.
