      Yes I have. Played for quite a while with a 7.5mm tip. Good control, but so easy to mess up a long shot. Then went to 8mm and now im on 8.5mm. I think having the smaller tip and then going slightly larger made me more accurate. I dunno...maybe just got better over time

        I played pool for a small time with a 7mm tip and would not recommend it unless for practice, 8 to 9mm is best for english 8ball imo

          i was using a 7.5mm tip for a few years now ive got a new TW and the tip is 7.8mm which ive found to be spot on as i agree with other posts it takes alot more cue control/perfect cueing to be consistant
          i sometimes practice on the snooker table as that really tests my cue action if its not spot on you can watch the white snake all over the place especially with longer pots
