  • New cue help

    Hey guys,

I'm looking to get a decent cue, the one I have at the moment is an MCM cue and was bought for only £20 at my snooker club years ago. Not too sure of budget but I'm not a world beater by any means. Looking to get one with a 3/4 join and a mini butt extension so any ideas?

    Cheers

there are stacks of threads on here if you navigate the site relating to all manner of cuemakers and companies selling cues...it all boils down t ohow much you want to spend...
Its not how well you play its how good you look playing that counts!

Thanks mate, but like I say I'm not too sure of budget. Would I get a good cue for £100-150?

Who should I be looking at then? All the threads I look at mention so many different cue makers I don't really know where to start.

That was before I put my prices mate....

I do have a few discontinued and one off cue's I have reduced.

However all future production of cues will now be starting at £120
The cost of materials has risen to the point that we now must pass on the cost.

However I suspect we still offer the lowest priced UK made cues.

I bought a "Welsh Dragon" from Bitter just last week and I'm really pleased with it so I'd thoroughly recommend his own range of handmade cues ...

When I was looking to move up from my existing £20 Cannon Scorpion (which BTW I have nothing bad to say about, it's served me well), I kinda boiled down my decision to either a Mike Wooldridge Shark, a Craftsman (their own make rather than imported) or a Welsh Pool Trading cue ...

I went for the Welsh Pool Trading "Welsh Dragon" and I'm delighted with it ... all the important bits are right about it ... very nice shaft (ash) ... very well fitted 3/4 and butt joint ... lovely finish and feel ...

Of course it's not perfect, there are minor finishing "errors" but they take no part in the playing qualities of the cue - all the important things are right ... very nice shaft with straight grain and evenly spaced chevrons ... the 3/4 joint (and butt joint) are both fitted extremely well ...

I have no hesitation in recommending www.WelshPoolTrading.co.uk own brand of cues ...
