i have two master cues both custom made. the first was made about 10 years ago thru email communication with urkit and the second one was made when i visited their shop in Bangkok and met him personally. He is a very nice person to talk to and very helpful. I must say his cue is not too bad but not the best around. Now i am in talk with Trevor and hope i will get my dream cue from him

I have ordered Master ProButt cue.
        http://www.mastercue.th.com/th/index...id=5&Itemid=20
I initially wanted to a Trevor White cue, but it was rather expensive for my budget.
        I only play on weekends.
I ordered the PB4 and AC3 (black aluminum case).
I should get it by tomorrow or day after.
Will post pictures when I get it.

Quick one : Is the joint (in pic) the new ones from Master Cue? i.e. not the faulty ones which MC had previously?

Btw i got it in Aug '08, not sure if it's old stock though.

          Thank you in advance.

I ordered mine online from a person who deals in master cues in India.
Will post pictures when my cue reaches my place.
I hope the joint is OK.

BTW, is the above picture example of a good joint?

I own a custom made by Ukrit. I'ts 5 years old - Before the faulty joints issue, and there is no engraving on the female joint. The joints are pretty good and stable, and the cue is very very good. But tried and playd with some very poor Master cue as well.

Wow!! Flashy is right! and cocky too! "Masterpiece". You have to be cocky to call one of your cues that, alright. I like the case; generally I don't like patchwork cases, but that one's nice; maybe I'm liking more flashy things as I'm getting older?

                        Thanks for the pics, Asi.

I think the majority of master cues a very good, but the mark up some sellers put on the price is out of order compared to what they are buying them in for.

A friend of mine has just shown me the invoice for a batch he has ordered and I was shocked to see that some sellers are putting a mark up of almost £200 per cue on some models.
Just because its old, doesn't mean its worth a fortune!!

The timber looks like some kind of burrwood, but which one? Perhaps a wood expert (totlxtc?) or a cuemaker (also wood experts, of course!) could help?

I don't know about you, but I like to think I'm like a good wine, and I get better with age. Don't know if the wife'd agree, though!

I purchased a JP Ultimate in 2000 and have been more than pleased with it. After finding this group and listening to all you cue addicts, I decided it was time to try another cue. I am anxiously waiting for a custom one piece cue from Ukrit. I will post pictures when it arrives. To say that I am curious to compare the two for finish and playability(subjective) is an understatement. I chose a one piece due to the comments made about the joint, plus I never play anywhere but my basement.
