Mellow Yellow, if you can get a kick out of checking/comparing other members' posts per day, good for you.

Your attention has been very flattering. However, since I have found your posts to be mostly pointless, and I am not interested in playing childish games, I am putting you on my ignore list now.

But feel free to keep track of my post stat, call me stupid, or whatever that you can get a kick out of.

      Good luck.

As one of the customers mentioned in this thread I'd like to say that, contrary to most of the people who have, apparently, never seen a Keith Auld cue, I contacted Keith and asked him to make a cue for me so's I could judge for myself.
Bearing in mind that I can only give my opinion on what I've experienced, I found Keith to be knowledgeable, professional, reliable and a nice guy. He was always available to speak whenever I phoned, if there was a question or some information required, he replied promptly and if he needed to contact me, his mails were clear and concise. I find all this quite remarkable given that he was undergoing tests, trying new medication and was hospitalised for his illness at the same time.
About the cue, my specs were quite specific, notably concerning the shaft, as I was looking for something that was more "springy" than stiff and I have to say that he didn't disappoint me at all; he chose a shaft that had all the playing characteristics I was looking for and looked great and had a beautiful, graceful taper. The shaft was the most important thing to me but, being an 8ball pool player, I also had specific specs for the tip size, length, weight and balance point. Keith's cue was nearly spot on on all the specs, weight and balance point being perfect, however, the cue was slightly longer and slightly thicker at the tip than I'd originally asked for. As with all cuemakers, as soon as he knew this, he asked me to send the cue back for the necessary alterations. The splicing on the cue is first-class, ebony then maple veneers then rosewood splices and the way it was spliced is exactly as I asked for it to be done. The only issue I had was with the quality of the ebony which is not the blackest I've ever seen, however, it's only on very close inspection that you'd notice anything.
I have already had cues made for me and arranged for cues to be made for friends by nearly all the top cuemakers: Trevor White, Dave Coutts, Robin Cook, Tony Glover, Kevin Muncaster and Hunt & Osborne. I've also seen Parris cues and Mike Woolridge cues. In my opinion, the cue that Keith Auld made for me is a first-class cue; I have seen better cues, but not many and I've seen a lot worse.
As for the people who think that it is in some way "wrong" to have cues made by apprentices and sold under your own name, do you think that Ferraris are still made by Ferrari?? I suggest that you find other things to do as you obviously have too much time on your hands.
I would like to join all the people who wish Keith all the very best for the future, I hope that he will be able to pass on his skill and knowledge to his apprentices as we need more good cuemakers.
Could you show us some pictures of this Keith Auld Cue, please?
Your English is really good for a French man by the way.

Maybe it's actually "KeithAuldinFrance" talking about himself?

Oh well. I have a case of deja vu then, cos I thought I've seen them pics before. Also always when I see a post on this forum that mentions Keith's name. Some things never change, independently from me being a mod or not.:snooker:

I have been trying not to comment any more on this thread, but with the photos shown i think it case closed regarding Keith workmanship.
How could any so called skilled cuemaker let cue like that leave the work bench?

I dunno if I am lucky or not as I am not the only one who recieved such quality from Keith? How can he release such thing to ruin his 30 years reputation?
I think he should have a good chat with his apprentices.

a good comment well made, i have spoken to keith and he seams a knowledgeable and friendly guy to me, but sometimes ones health has to take precedent over ones business and i think laterly keith has had some serious health isssues that may have effected the output.

Yeah I do think Keith is a very nice guy too but if he wants to stay in this business then he should keep the quality of his product as you know it is not only wasting money for me but time. It is hard to wait for a cue for 3 months then I have to return it and wait for another one again, you know it Andrew!!
