i believe there was a thread or post on here a while back alluding to Dave Brown @ Craftsman making a cue completely from Ebony and it was about 28oz. A modern cue normally without any artificial weighting at all comes in around 15-15.5oz I believe.
Its not how well you play its how good you look playing that counts!
Hi there, check this out, I can remember a one piece ash/ebony cue:
59-1/4 inches long handspilced solid ebony butt,
(total butt length was 25" with a short four point splice patern)
10mm tip/ long ferrule, butt diam measured at it's widest point was 31mm, shallow taper, weight was 20.5oz ,
balance point was 16 1/4" measured from bottom of the leather butt pad
& finished using a linseed oil bees wax & orange oil mixture!
real old-school cuemaking at it's very best in my humble opinion
