How to play/bed the tip in.

Hi

Can I have some advice on, bedding/playing a new tip in. The only info on the net I could find was that you should play Soft shots for as long as possible. How long is necessary, how can I tell when it is ready to play normal shots.

Can you practice soft screw/top spin, or will that distort the tip.

Also I have read somewhere that tapping the tip with a ball will do the same and speeds up the process.

Advice Please.

The time it takes a new tip in depends on what type of tip that you are using ! you dont mention in your thread what kind of tip that you use...

I either use Blue Diamond or Elkmaster, I'm getting a new cue, and I can't remember what tip i ordered.
