  • Pearwood

    have a question.
Recently came across a pearwood cue made by B & W many years ago.
Would like to know how do you take care of the wood, do you condition it with linseed, is there anything special I should know about this wood before doing anything to it, such as sanding? The cue needs a ferrule.
    Thank you.

It is very smooth. What should I use to finish/condition it? Anything special?

pearwood can be finished same as any other - its soft though so bends easily.

I agree. Ive seen maybe 5 pearwood cues and played with 2 of them and none of them could be called straight as such. Nice feel if a little whippy too.

            Thank you.
This one is straight, but the hit is kind of different, not sure how to describe it. It is an old B&W, and the taper is also quite different, I am not sure if it has a softer hit because of the taper or the wood.
Once I sanded it down, the color seemed a bit paler than the rest of the wood.

I think Pearwood is not stable for the cue!
