However, Stephen has a right to ask for help, and I would like to command him for exposing his bad experience with keith Auld so the rest of the forum would know.
There are other bad stories in case you do not noticed. An even if he is the first one, it does not make his story uncredible, unless you have other info you would like to share to prove otherwise.
Obviously, when he purchased his cue, he trusted Keith. When he was told he could get a refund, he still trusted Keith--it was only after he did not see the money and not been able to contact Keith that he lost his trust, which is only to be expected. He still is entitled to get his money back, and I do not think he is doing anything wrong by posting his problem here.
People come to the forum for information. If everyone is only here to say good things about cue makers, and is discouraged from reporting their bad experience because some members are "****ed off, then the information we gather here will be very biased and inaccurate. I do not consider it appropriate to discourage the sharing of bad experience regarding purchasing from forum members here--when people are allowed to say how great their experience have been with so and so, they should also be allowed to say how bad.Last edited by poolqjunkie; 26 November 2008, 01:40 AM.

Could he at least send back your cue to you? Or is he not even willing to do that? Is he now keeping your money and your cue and just basically saying, "go ahead, sue me!"
I strongly recommend you to dispute the charges with your credit card company asap.
If he is keeping your cue, and your money, and not willing to do anything about it, then Keith Auld is a thief and a liar and a con artist.
Keith Auld is so pathetic.
Let me see if I got this all right: First Keith coming on here saying how he was only here trying to help other people interested in cue making, welcoming us to ask any questions. He threw Robert Osbourn's name whenever he could, representing himself as Robert Osbourn's teacher. He said he is a master cue maker, with over 30 years of experience. He made many strange claims such as he had a very secret straightening agent, but refused to tell anyone what it was, same with his so-called secret finish. He claimed that his strightening agent was so amazing, that a cue straightened by him will never ever bend in the same place ever again!
Keith kept claiming how he had a very successful furniture business and was not really interested in making cues, yet at the same time never ceased to attacking other cue makers such as Mike Wooldridge, trying to get forum members to order a cue from him instead; after all the silly attacks and the bongus claims he made about his secret method in cue making, he posted a cue making challenge to Trevor White, once Trevor accepted the challenge, he backed down.
Despite how busy he claimed to be, he repeatedly mentioned how he had to perform a lot of repairs on Mike Wooldridge's cues, because the customers, according to Keith, preferred his hand planed taper over Mike's. He also said he was really back up with orders from overseas.
Keith kept challenging Mike Wooldridge about the validity of his web site "handmade cue" implying Keith was the only one truly making cues by hand; soon a complain from forum member Platt came out, saying he received a cue from keith with many flat spots and the shaft was oval! Keith never apologized, but instead went on to say how his cue was very responsive and he felt that there was nothing wrong with it. He said many ex champions preferred that kind of shafts, made yet another claim that these kind of flat spots and unevenness was to be expected from a truly hand planed cue.
Shortly after that, this hand made cue purist told everyone he ordered a cue lathe from the US, to turn shafts and so on. He said he was ready to join the rest of the cue makers making cues with the help of machines.
Another set of pictures of some very poor job of Keith Auld surfaced by another member from the Far East. Keith responded by saying he actually never really made these cues, that he had not been making cues for over half a year! The cues with his name badge were not made by him except a couple!
Another company was started, Keith Auld's name was there on the web site, again, claiming he had made many cues for champions and so on, although no specific was given. Pictures of this cue lathe Keith said he was ordering for himself was shown on the site, placing onside, resting on two plastic work bench.
Keith then posted another thread, saying he had to retire because he was too sick. Although he was very earger to explain to us how he got a new lathe to start a new cue making venture, now, he was trying to isolate himself completely from this new company, Salisbury cue or whatever it is called, as best he could.
A customer felt the quality of his Keith Auld was totally unacceptable and asked for a refund, Keith told the customers to send him back the cue, making promises that refund would be issued. After the cue was received by Keith, he told the customer that he was in liqudation, and he had no control of the cue and any of his asset. He suggested the customer to file a claim against his "company" -- which is not even registered--to get in line among creditors. So, now, this customer is out both money and cue. If this was true, then Keith Auld is in serious debt, and has default on his payment to the degree of bankrupcy. In other words, he is being forced into closing shop, and he is not retiring due to sickness at all.
Now, another customer from the Far East also had a similiar problem, and is getting no where with master cue maker Keith Auld either.
Now knowing that he might have claims filed against him or his company, Keith said that he was only helping Salibusry cues, that it was not his company, and he had nothing to do with them.
Latest response from Keith, who is still reading and responding his emails despite of his alleged sickness, regarding a refund, is a classic, "you can do what you like."
Why is this guy even allowed to sell on the forum despite so many questionable problems in the short few months that he was here?Last edited by poolqjunkie; 26 November 2008, 06:27 PM.

I was always sketchy about Keith. Surely if he's..sorry..was in the business for 30 years I wouldve heard of him through people down at my club.
I hope you get the money and cue back stephen. Its very odd that he retired this year too with the recession and everything.

You can call your credit card company directly and dispute the charges. The credit card company will file a charge back with paypla, and they will take care of getting their money back from Keith. You do not need to worry about that. I believe they will freeze keith's accoutn when a charge back is filed. Keep all emails, and fax or email them to your credit card company. You should be able to get your money back. You should do this quickly. You can also file a claim against Keith Auld personally at the same time. I am sure there are small claim court which takes care of this kind of claim. Make sure you have the receipt or the tracking number of you sending the cue back to him for a refund, and your emails with him saying he would issue you a refund.Last edited by poolqjunkie; 26 November 2008, 06:46 PM.

a new reply from him:
So far you have conducted this, from receipt to date, on the Snooker Forum and managed to call me every possible name and tried to undermine my business in every way possible. If you had behaved properly contacted me and said ' Keith this cue is unacceptable I'm returning it to you, please issue a refund upon receipt of the cue', this would have been done with an apology from me. However you've used the forum to rubbish me, issuing pictures you claim to be of the cue and calling it a 'piece of ****. Considering this I don't see why I should go out of my way to assist you, All you have managed to do is cause me unnecessary grief on the snooker forum (I read your new thread specifically started to rubbish me and all the comments that it has generated), how you can expect me to assist you now astounds me.
