or stop mods locking threads and deleting posts they personally do not like...

situations like this may not arise if people are allowed to speak in the first place.

    • Mike W, I don't think for a minute the forum owners or their admin have any problem with this thread, it is after all what forums are all about, however a case could be made for overstatement - this, I think, has happened here - a veritable plethora of posts from all quarters, qualified or not in their opinion.

To all, fine, wonderful, I feel sorry for the original poster if he feels so aggrieved, what can't be done is to lodge any complaint against TSF even if a purchase was based on or influenced by what may have been read here, obviously, TSF is in essence all the posters and members collectively. If I made a post suggesting that snooker was the work of the devil and attempted ad nauseam to prove it, any sensible credibility I might have had would soon be lost and I would expect to be ostracised, but TSF would remain intact, anyhow I'm sure you would all be bored with any long running debate on that issue, it would certainly not be about cues or balls or biggest this or that.

The strength of a good forum is the spread of opinion and its collective ability to regulate itself.........please

i wasnt suggesting that. more the past threads that have been locked or deleted that may have given the uninformed a fairer chance to decide what is right or wrong.

            • Mike,

Fair comment about closing threads, there have been a very few threads that have been either locked or deleted, this may have been for good sound reasons, I do not doubt that if there was any reasonable value in revisiting these, then an appeal to admin would be in order. However, so far this thread is still open, but.....

                  .....there's still time....

nah, leave us alone and we'll quieten down of our own accord.

in seriousness, the mods have a difficult job, and often will not be following all the action as it unfolds. more often it will be a reaction to a complaint. and possibly misinformed decisons have been made.

let's all allow this issue to 'die' and get on with normality again without the need for bans/deletions etc., etc., blah, blah.

Yes, Mike, this is exactly the point I was trying to make.
By locking the thread and deleting many posts regarding the subject, it was almost like the forum was trying to protect Keith Auld's reputation--which was done unfortunately on the forum members' expense as it turned out.
Not trying to blame anyone here, just telling it the way i see it.

PS, this is my last post on this thread.

I guess it depends how strongly Stephen feels about it as to whether he wants to pursue it ...

if he does, I'd have thought a chat with the Citizen's Advice Bureau is the first port of call - they are completely free and offer independent and impartial advice on absolutely anything - in case anyone thinks there must be a catch, for instance, they're religious nutters or summat, I don't believe they are - I believe they are actually government funded (although independent) ... http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/index.htm

they may suggest Stephen makes a claim at the Small Claims Court which isn't a "court" as in huge solicitor's fees etc ... more of a legally binding arbitration service I think ... http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/i...aims/index.htm

interestingly, the small claims court lists reasons why you might use them - "bad workmanship" being top of the list LOL ...

I'm not trying to teach anyone to suck eggs here btw - just thought it might help Stephen to get his money or at least his cue back ...

alternatively, he might choose to put it down to experience and look forward to receiving Trevor's fabulous cue (as it's bound to be from what I've heard of Trev's work) and, of course, Mike's kind offer of a ,,,, errr ,,, chalk (only kidding Mike) ....

so have we all. what's that got to do with treating customers with respect?

don't take much effort to refund money.

probably as much as effort as it took to tell cueinhand:

He answer : My company has now closed down and is in administration - I personally have retired and have no longer any contact with it. You are welcome to put in a claim against the company, and if you send it to me I will pass it on to the liquidator although in my experience once the preferential creditors (the bank, Inland revenue, tax and liquidators) fees have been taken out there is generally very little left for other creditors, usually about 10p in the pound.

                              deceiver-Keith Auld
personally, i don't quite understand how one can just say 'i retire' and therefore have no obligations to current customers?!? in fact, i don't believe for one second you legally can do that.

and since when do liquidators get called in when someone retires?

surely keith could just sell his equipment and stock?

jesus! i'm scared of retiring now! i can just imagine announcing retirment and a swat team of 'liquidators' surrounds my house and strips me of all my possessions.

interestingly, keith seems quite keen, and smug in my opinion, to point out that 'in his experience' he'll probably only get 10p in the pound. call me cynical but i would guess that would be to try to put off any claim by suggesting it's simply not worth the effort.

well that comment didn't take much effort at all!

but still about the same as pressing the send button on paypal to refund the poor chap...
