  • How can they make a whole snooker cue for $10?

I was told that a basic snooker cue, 3/4, with an ash shaft and an ebonised butt, can be had for about $10, that is 5 pounds if purchased in volume from China.
Even if labour cost is very low, how could they do it?
It is not like there is a robot that can just pop the cues out--someone still needs to turn the shaft, installs the joint, face it, finishes and polishes the cue and installs the tip. How can they manage to make a profit at this price?
This factory said they can produce up to 20,000 cues a month if they have to.
