Does anyone know of any decent places to buy cues in the midlands? I live in Leicester and all of the local clubs have the standard machined cues but im looking for something with a little more craftsmanship and would like to get a feel for a better quality cue before taking the plunge as im currently playing with a o'sullivan special cue from JJB sports .

If not then I guess I will have to take the plunge and order online, in which case what would you recommend? I have a budget of £100-£200 and would like something handmade with an 'oiled' finish (correct me if im wrong, I tried a friends cue and it felt great and he said it was oiled so I’m hoping this is the correct terminology). Ash shaft with an ebony butt, aesthetically i like the black/white contrast on cues so im not really interested in exotic wood combinations.

All help is greatly appreciated, James.

Tony glover at moira furnace but his prices start from 250 he's very good at what he does but at that price range you would be alot better looking at second hand cues.

                  hi james.
A+D billiards aren't far from you, they are in birmingham.
its worth a drive over, as they have many cues on display in their shop.

Yep, and there is a Thurstons shop not too far from there either, buts its mainly Peradon cues with a few Thurston branded which are actually rebadged Mastercues. Neither shop have the best quality cues but you might be lucky to find what you're looking for.
