  • My New Cue!!!

Just got it from Tony Wilshaw!!!
    3/4 Maple Cue,
    Plain Ebony Butt,
    9.5mm Tip Size,
Joint at 14" away from butt-end,
    Weight 17.6oz,
Round-butt (dia. 28.5mm) with name disc,

The quality of the shaft is excellent I think.
I was impressed the most by the how well the cue is balanced.

not overly keen on the badge.
          is it a new design?
did you request it without a flat, i think it looks neater
when the badge is on the front flat.

              Straight_Strike:
Sure I can tell you the balance point of my cue.
But balance point (Centre of Gravity) is I think just a physical reference.
Yet considering 2 cues having the same length with the same weight and same balance points, they can still give different feeling of "weight" to the player.
Some of the cues give you the feeling that the weight is "concentrated" on the front end of the cue.
Whilst some of the cues give you the feeling that the weight is "concentrated" on the rear end of the cue.
To me, a perfectly balanced cue would gives me the feeling that the weight is evenly distributed throughout the whole cue.
It's is just from personal experience and preference.

              Well. I don't think it's a new design.
I have seen quite a few cue with round-butt having this sort of name disc design.
I personally like playing with a round-butt cue.

ROFLMAO Yeah sure, and a red Ferrari is faster than a yellow one.

Hey karkit, whats he's web address? I'm interested. Want to get a final serious cue. Bought many times through trial and error but now I know exactly what specs I want. Cheers.

                    His website is http://www.twcues.co.uk/.
Just drop him some e-mails for whatever enquiry you are interested in about cues.
He is very helpful, even if you are not buying anything from him.
If you are really ordering a cue from him, it would be a good idea to bring your current playing cue (or any cue similar to your desired spec.) to him as well.

Again, I am really pleased by the cue he made and I would strongly recommend Tony Wilshaw to anyone with no doubts. Simply excellent craftsmanship.

                      Thanks Karkit,

Gave him a mail and got a nice formal reply.
Tony quoted £260 plus delivery for a custom made cue with all my specs.
                      How much is delivery btw?
I live to far to visit him unfortunantly (London)
Also what is more solid Ash or Maple?
K good luck with your game with your new cue.

Well, I'm sure you'd better ask Tony about the delivery because I went to order and collect my cue in person.
Well, concerning ash or maple, it really depends on your playing habit I think.
Have a discussion with Tony or people around here on that.

I actually won a tournament with the new cue today!~ It's awesome!!!

Wish that would happen for me when I get a new cue.
I'm quite a hard hitter suppose, and want something that doesn't flex under a bit of pressure, real put off.
I'll ask and a search, and give tony a call soon.
                          k mate catch ya soon.
